Grade H £ £29,636 – £32,878 per annum

The post is based within the Food and Safety Team which is part of the Food, Safety and Licensing Section.   Our Team uses innovative approaches, helping businesses to comply and building positive working relationships.  We have two Primary Authority Partnerships  which offer  development opportunities in both food hygiene  and health and safety in a fast paced environment, a challenge even for the most experienced professional.   With public health challenges in the District there are also opportunities to work with partners and community groups to improve health outcomes for our residents.

The role will be varied and challenging.  You will be working within a supportive team and  have freedom to devise and implement project work.  You will be given every opportunity to make full use of your skills as an Environmental Health Professional and to influence how our work is carried out.

Essential requirements for this role include:

  • A degree or equivalent in Environmental Health
  • Certificate of Registration from EHRB
  • Post qualification experience of health and safety enforcement;
  • good communication and customer care skills,
  • the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines;
  • the ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues;
  • to work well both in a team and on your own initiative;
  • a flexible approach to work;
  • IT skills
