ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

Salary details: £28785 - £31371

Private Housing (Environmental Health) are looking to recruit a permanent Enforcement/Licensing Officer to join its Private Sector Housing Team.  This is a multi-disciplinary role offering the opportunity to investigate service requests and deal with houses in multiple occupation subject to mandatory licensing.
The post will include inspecting private residential dwellings, scoring hazards under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System, preparing schedules of works and giving advice to tenants and landlords in order to improving housing conditions.  This could involve using all of the enforcement tools available including statutory notices, licensing, prosecution and financial penalty orders.  
We would welcome applicants from people who have an understanding of housing construction and property types, show a commitment to ensuring excellent customer care, possess good communication and negotiation skills and be enthusiastic, conscientious and flexible in their approach.
