Lichfield is a vibrant and historic city and district located in the heart of Staffordshire just north of Birmingham.  It is a popular tourist destination and hosts numerous popular public events throughout the year. 

We have an immediate vacancy for an Environmental Health Officer.  You will be involved in all aspects of Environmental Health work at a key level.  The major tasks undertaken will be Food Safety, Health & Safety, Private Water Supply and all the major licensing functions undertaken by the section to the highest standards of customer service. In particular you will help with the development of the safety plans for the public events that take place and have the opportunity to contribute to a vibrant and effective Safety Advisory Group (SAG). Event safety is an evolving area of work for the Authority and we want a motivated and enthusiastic person to support us with the positive contribution we are making to public safety.  You will also get the opportunity to support and grow existing primary authority agreements.   

You will need to be motivated by achieving high quality customer-focused service delivery and positive public health outcomes. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential and you'll need to be a confident, organised, flexible and outward-looking team player, with a practical common sense approach to the job. Experience in enforcement work is required.
