This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, talented and ambitious person to work within our Commercial Services Team.
The Commercial Team is responsible for food safety, health & safety, private water supplies, and mobile homes legislation, and is based across two locations within the Borough; Crewe and Macclesfield.
We have a vacancy for a qualified and experienced Environmental Health Officer with a Certificate of Registration issued by the Environmental Health Registration Board, who can complement the ideas and direction of the Team and contribute to the Council's strategic objectives.
As a Senior Environmental Health Officer, based in Crewe, you will be responsible for supervising a team of Officers, providing them with technical advice and guidance on a range of subjects, including food safety, to support them in carrying out their work. As a senior member of the team you will require extensive experience of food safety and have associated good technical and legislative knowledge which will be reflected in your individual inspection programme. You will be responsible for allocating work, managing projects, investigating more complex complaints and preparing cases for enforcement action. You will also be required to identify new income generating work and efficiency savings, as part of the Councils wider objectives.
Working as part of a busy team you will need to have a flexible approach to service delivery to meet your personal objectives and the wider aims of the team. You will require excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management and enjoy being part of a vibrant team.
If you think you have the skills and drive to contribute and compliment the service, then this may be the opportunity for you.
