Environmental specialists in Ealing’s Planning Enforcement and Environment Team provide a wide range of technical consultancy, environmental regulation and project management services to improve the quality of the natural and built environment in the borough.  We cover air quality, environmental permitting, land contamination, noise and vibration, light pollution, radiation and drinking water quality.

We are now looking to recruit a Regulatory Services Officer with broad pollution control experience to join the team.

You will be helping to ensure that developments and major regeneration schemes minimise their impacts and provide the best possible environment for future residents.  You will have the opportunity to participate in projects to improve local air quality and will help support Ealing’s contribution to the London-wide effort to reduce emissions.  You will provide specialist advice and support to colleagues across the Council and to members of the public on environmental pollution and its control.  You will contribute to the team’s work in regulating noise and vibration from construction and engineering works.

You will work closely with the GLA, the Environment Agency and other local authorities, as well as a wide range of partners including development management and transport planners, highways engineers, schools, developers and businesses.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in working within a multi-disciplinary environmental protection service and have practical and technical knowledge and skills relating to environmental pollution and its impacts.

Although this role is career graded, we are currently looking for candidates who meet the criteria for grade 9 to 10 only.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role.  This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
