We are looking for a qualified Environmental Health Practitioner, or equivalent, to carry out complex nuisance and housing inspections and investigations as part of the wider Environmental Health and Licensing team. This post will require a high level of technical knowledge and would be well suited to an enthusiastic, dynamic team player. You will need to be able to support wider policy development and will form part of a group of Specialist Officers supporting delivery of the Council's corporate priorities.

The districts cover two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a National Park and a UNESCO world heritage site, stretching from Moor to Sea and there is certainly more to see and do when you live and work in the beautiful surroundings of West Devon and South Hams. You'll be based in an area that provides excellent opportunities for hiking, swimming, surfing and cycling, with several bustling market towns to explore, as well as being near to the cities of Plymouth and Exeter.

West Devon Borough and South Hams District Councils are shared authorities with an exciting, innovative and forward looking delivery model. We are offering opportunities to customer focused individuals who welcome change and can drive forward and shape new ways of service delivery. In return, we can offer flexible working conditions so that you can make the most of the outstanding local environment.
