Home Improvement Officer

Salary: LBR 10 £34,113 to £35,992 per annum

Appointment: Permanent, full time

Reference Number: RQ000244

Improving the quality of life for the most vulnerable residents living in Redbridge by keeping people safe and independent in their homes is a key priority for Redbridge Council. This can be achieved by delivering a range of financial assistance schemes to improve housing conditions, including Disabled Facilities Grants.

We are looking for a keen, enthusiastic and experienced Home Improvement Officer, who will complement and add value to our existing skilled workforce.

Reporting to the Senior Home Improvement Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the Council’s statutory duties and responsibilities relating to the provision of Disabled Facilities Grants are met. Duties typically include feasibility visits to agree adaptations, preparing cases for approval, checking quality of work, and liaising with clients, contractors, Occupational Therapists and other stakeholders. Applicants need to be able to demonstrate a sound building related background and knowledge of adapting homes for disabled residents.

You will need to be motivated, organised and committed to deliver exceptional customer service. The service provided can make a real difference to people living with disabilities.

Redbridge operates flexible working and the post includes a car allowance.

For an informal discussion about the above post, please contact Themis Skouros, Environmental Health Manager, themis.skouros@redbridge.gov.uk or call 0208 708 5687.

Closing: 10th April 2019
