Job Details

Our client, based in Essex are looking to appoint an experienced Environmental Planning Officer, To perform duties associated with compliance and enforcement of legislation in respect of contaminated land and consideration of planning and licensing applications and inspection of premises subject to local authority air pollution permitting. Main tasks include; 1.To prioritise and categorise for assessment contaminated land within the Borough Council area according to the risks posed to human health. To this end the following may be undertaken:- A - Carrying out historical research, inspecting records, maps and plans and extracting relevant information manually and on computer systems. B - Survey areas of the borough to collect information on contaminated land and undertake sampling and measurements as a part of site investigations.

It is essential that you have at least 3 years experience in the assessment of contaminated land sites and have an active involvement in the environmental health/protection field for at least 3 years. You must have a Scientific Degree or equivalent qualification in a discipline such as geology, chemistry, biology or biochemistry and be willing to obtain or already possess the Diploma in Acoustics.

This is a 3 month contract starting in the beginning of April and rates may be negotiable. If you are interested then please indicate your hourly rate and an updated CV.
