Port Health Officer
£32,233 - £37,107
Job number: LCC02075
Liverpool City Council is looking to recruit a Port Health Officer for a fixed period of 12 months.
The Port Health Authority is responsible for some 52 miles of coastline, stretching from Hilbre Island, off the Wirral peninsular, to a point north of the seaside resort of Southport. Responsibilities include Imported Food Controls, International Health Regulations, International Catering Waste Enforcement, Food Hygiene, Shellfish and Water Quality monitoring.
The Port of Liverpool is expanding to meet the challenges of the future with a deep-water harbour facility planned to cope with Post Panamax container ships, tripling imports through the Port of Liverpool. The continued success of the Cruise Line Terminal is highlighting a year on year increase with cruise traffic.
The successful candidate will join a successful team in enforcing a wide variety of International, European and UK Legislation to deal with the varying aspects of the post.
Closing date: 12 April 2019
