Role Purpose
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the work programme is fulfilled in relation to private sector housing regulation.
The post holder will liaise with internal and external parties to ensure that a holistic approach is taken with regards to Housing regulation within its broadest sense across all work programmes.
The successful candidate will also assist with the mentoring of other staff across the Service.
Key Responsibilities
To deliver on the agreed service priorities, ensuring that the current designated licensing schemes are managed effectively and that landlords that fail to maintain standards are held to account.
The Team also respond to service requests and manage the Councils Travellers site.
It is estimated that just under 40% of all the housing stock in the Borough is in the private rented sector. The Team meets the challenges that it needs to face and the Team Leader needs to be able to direct the Team and give advice to internal and external stakeholders on the best strategies to manage the private rented stock.
The successful candidate will need to be able to take decisive action to improve housing conditions within the Borough
Requirements
The successful individual will be an Environmental Health Practitioner registered with in Chartered Institute of Environmental (or equivalent) and have extensive experience across Environmental Health, ideally as a manager.
