Air Quality Officer

Salary: Grade 8, £28,221 - £32,233 per annum.

 The salary is subject to the 2019 National Joint Council pay award and any local agreements

 37 hours per week

 Temporary for 2 years

 Your role:

The Air Quality Officer is a new role in the Environmental Health Service, and will work with colleagues locally and across Greater Manchester to deliver air quality improvements.

You will lead on the development and implementation of a range of air quality initiatives, providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues, partners and the public. You will have opportunities to be involved in specific projects and bids for grants both individually and as part of a team.

About you:

You will be passionate about improving air quality, and will have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant science-based subject.

You will be a confident and  highly motivated team player with a good eye for detail, sound knowledge of current air quality issues, and the ability to guide and influence others. You will have the initiative, sound judgment, and confidence to work across all levels of the organisation and be able to form effective partnerships both internally and externally. You will also have experience in project management.

Your proven ability to listen, explain, negotiate and influence, and your  excellent communication skills will be essential for the successful delivery of improvements in air quality.
