About Hillingdon

Hillingdon Council: Putting our residents first.

London Borough of Hillingdon is the second largest borough of the 33 London boroughs. It has a diverse population and two major busy London airports.

About the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Environmental Health Officer to join our Imported Food Team at London Heathrow Airport. The successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing European and Domestic import legislation by means of enforcement, advice and education.

Parking, uniform and airside driver training will be provided.

About the person

We are looking for a qualified Environmental Health Officer with a Certificate of Registration issued by the Environmental Health Registration Board. You will have a background in food law enforcement and knowledge of imported food legislation which will enable you to take on the challenges of imported food control at the busiest airport in the United Kingdom.

Excellent communication skills and experience of providing good customer care are essential. You will be expected to provide advice and information to service users and other local authorities and liaise with government departments such as the Food Standards Agency and UK Border Force.
