Our client in Essex is recruiting for an Environmental Health Officer / Higher Certificate Technical Officer to join their experienced, friendly team to start asap on an ongoing basis.

 

Duties

 

  1. To advise, inform and assist residents and businesses on the full range of EH matters, including casework, and support as directed.  You will specialise in FoodSafety & Standards but will ideally have the knowledge and ability to work across the range of Environmental Health matters as needed / requested:
  1. Food safety, food standards, drinking water, health protection
  1. Environmental protection and safer places (encompassing air quality, contaminated land, planning consultation advice, licensing, noise, statutory nuisance, health protection, neighbourhood safety and standards matters it empty homes, derelict properties, travellers etc)

To properly exercise the powers of an officer authorised under specified EnvironmentalHealth legislation and to attend court and give evidence when directed. To develop and lead on allocated projects, leading teams of multi-agency officers on investigations and operations appropriate to the role. To collect, assess, analyse and share intelligence in a lawful manner and in accordance with the National Intelligence Model. To develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge and expertise of the areas of work allocated. Cross service working within Community Protectionand liaise with officers of other local authorities, enforcement agencies, 3rd sector bodies and other partners at local, regional and national level. Requirements

 

Inspecting officers must hold one of the baseline qualifications, and have associated registration. The base line qualifications are Higher Certificate in Food Control or certificate of registration or Diploma issued by Environmental Health Registration Board.

 

The Inspecting Officer must be able to demonstrate how they are capable of meeting the competencies relating to Inspection of Food Establishments (Cluster 4.) and have at least 10 hours of Food Core CPD as specified in the current version of the Food Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance.

 

A copy of relevant qualifications, CPD certificates and certificates of registration with EHORB/EHRB (or equivalent) must be held on file by Buckingham Futures before the contract commences
