Environmental Health Officer/ Higher Certificate Technical Officer

Buckingham Futures have an exciting opportunity in Dorset for an Environmental Health Officer/ Higher Certificate Technical Officer initially for 3 months to inspect high risk premises and approved businesses for food hygiene and health & safety; investigating customer complaints, accident investigations, outbreak investigations, sampling as well as offering advice to Borough residents and businesses

Inspecting officer must hold one of the baseline qualifications, and have associated registration. The base line qualifications are Higher Certificate in Food Control or certificate of registration or Diploma issued by Environmental Health Registration Board.

The Inspecting Officer must be able to demonstrate how they are capable of meeting the competencies relating to Inspection of Food Establishments (Cluster 4.) and hold 10 CPD hours on core food matters directly related to the delivery of official controls and 10 hours on other professional matters. This could include training needs identified by the Lead Food Officer during competency assessments/appraisals as specified in the current version of the Food Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance.

A copy of relevant qualifications, CPD certificates and certificates of registration with EHORB/EHRB must be held on file by Buckingham Futures before the contract commences.
