The Challenge

Regulatory Services and Safer Communities bring together the professional disciplines of environmental health, trading standards, licensing, anti-social behaviour and planning enforcement. Our work programmes touch on every aspect of life, whether it is property regulation, food enforcement, air-quality or tackling challenging behaviour in the community.

It is rare that you will get the exposure to the variety and complexity of cases and investigations that Ealing has to offer. It is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a fast paced, compliance centred service.

The Food and Workplace safety team sits within Regulatory Services that is within the wider Safer Communities. Making Ealing safer is one of the key priorities for the authority, as such you and the service will play a fundamental role in delivering this priority.

In order to deliver on making Ealing safer we place a lot of pride on our strong effective partnership working arrangements. This includes being collocated with the police, which opens up for many opportunities to tackle non-compliance creatively and align shared objectives to maximise impact to be a collective resource.

The workload is complex and ever changing but for the right candidates provides an exciting opportunity to apply and develop your skills in a fast paced but supportive work environment confident that you are making a positive contribution to the safety of the nation’s food supply and safety at workplaces across the borough.

Benefits of working for Ealing Council

You can expect an exceptional range of benefits including discounted access to the onsite leisure facilities with swimming pool, recognition and reward for high performance with progression and pay increases, flexible and agile working hours and access to a leading pension scheme.
