Pollution Control Officer (Environmental Health)
Salary range: £30,756 - £38,052 (plus 10% market supplement)
Following recent investment into the councils Environmental Health Pollution Control function we are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for two motivated officers with a passion for environmental protection to join our Service.
The successful applicants will undertake a range of functions relating to environmental protection including, air quality, contaminated land, permitted processes, investigation of statutory nuisances, reviewing and advising on planning and licensing applications. You will work closely with colleagues across the Council and with our external partners.
Pollution Control is part of an award winning Regulatory Services Group, which has seen teams shortlisted for four national awards in the last two years, as well as winning one of them.
You will be based in Peterborough, a fast growing vibrant multi-cultural city, with the role also providing support to the rural and picturesque Rutland County Council as part of our Regulatory Services shared service agreement. As a Council we embrace flexible working and have recently relocated to a purpose built building within the City, creating a fantastic new working environment.
The roles require excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to work, and a solution focused outlook. We are happy to receive applications from people looking for both full time and part time employment, and though ideally looking for experienced officers we would consider applicants who have relevant skills and alternative qualifications, or are nearing completion of a degree in Environmental Health, for the Pollution Control Officer post. We are an ambitious Service and set ourselves high standards, if you are equally ambitious we would like to hear from you.
For an informal discussion regarding these posts please contact either Peter Gell on 01733 453419 or Lynden Leadbeater on 01733 453494.
