It is estimated that around 14% of these properties have category 1 hazards.  The Council recognises the importance that this sector plays in terms of providing homes for our local residents, and is committed to improving housing standards through its Private Sector Housing Strategy.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and  hard working individual to contribute to the work of a team responding to local issues within our local private sector housing stock.  Your duties will include HMO inspections and licensing; investigation and response to complaints in relation to housing conditions, provision of advice and ensuring compliance with appropriate housing standards.

You will have previous experience of working in a local government housing enforcement environment, which will include a working knowledge in the practical application of relevant legislation and the HHSRS.  Your skills will include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with landlords, agents and tenants as well as a range of related agencies.

In return we can offer you a generous reward package including flexible working.

If you feel you have the necessary qualities it takes then we would like to hear from you.
