SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER (COMMERCIAL)

 £33,136 - £40,858 p.a.  plus benefits package

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Commercial team. We are looking for a professionally qualified and skilled officer who is competent, confident, enthusiastic and highly motivated to fill the post of Senior Environmental Health Officer. You will be required to lead and manage a small team of officers to deliver a range of activities which fulfill the Council’s statutory food and Health and Safety function. You will also be required to ensure the service meets statutory and local performance requirements, through planning, supervision, support and development of team members.

We are looking for candidates with at least 5 years relevant professional experience who hold a degree or equivalent in Environmental health with at least 2 years of proven knowledge and experience of working in food safety and health and safety inspection and enforcement, in a local authority setting. You will also need to meet the competency requirements of a Lead Officer as detailed within the Food Standards Agency Code of Practice.  A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
