An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Environmental Health Specialist to join the Service Delivery directorate acting as the lead for both Food Hygiene and Health and Safety as well as overseeing our Primary Authority partnerships.
You will have responsibility for the investigation of more serious food hygiene and health and safety work (up to and including the production of prosecution reports). Alongside of this you will oversee the Primary Authority work ensuring that the partnerships we have with a number of high profile clients are maintained and continue to perform to a high standard.
In addition, you will provide technical mentoring support and guidance to other staff within the team to encourage transfer of specialist knowledge, share best practice, new legislation and associated changes to processes
We are looking for candidates who hold a degree or equivalent in Environmental Health and are EHRB registered. A NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent would be a significant advantage. You will need to have demonstrable experience of conducting inspections and investigations, with an excellent grasp of food and health and safety legislation.
You will have excellent communication skills, preparing and presenting reports to Council committees and other internal/external meetings, dealing with members of the public, engaging with other agencies and stakeholders and supporting existing and new business partners. As some travel will be required for this role, a full, clean driving licence is required.
