Our client in Cambridgeshire is seeking a Market & Street Trading Assistant to join its team.

 

Main purpose

 

To assist the Market & Street Trading Manager with the operation of licensing functions and street trading consents on the public highway.

 

Duties

 

To maintain comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date records (computerised or manual as appropriate) containing data on applications, waiting lists, consultation records, licences granted, licences rejected, equality monitoring, enforcement actions and any other relevant information, for:

 

  • Street Trading pitches Market stalls,

 To assist the Market & Street Trading Manager in allocating licences for stalls and pitches, all in accordance with service standards, procedures and codes of practice.

 

 Walk the Market(s) and visit all street pitches on a regular basis to monitor all      aspects of their operation, reporting any concerns back to the Market and Street Trading Manager.

 

To maintain adequate supplies necessary for the operation of the Market(s).

 

Carry out any other duties as required by the Markets and Street Trading Manager from time to time in accordance with the grading of the post.

 

Knowledge and experience

 

Knowledge of Microsoft Office and working in a windows environment.

 

Knowledge of Market or similar trading.

 

Past enforcement of regulations and/or legislation

 

Knowledge of using PACE
