Trainee Environmental Health Practitioner
(Southern Region)

Churchill Contract Services are soul searching for an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial Environmental Health professional to make their mark within a small, progressive team. Your Key responsibility will be to ensure compliance with Food Safety, Training, Health Safety and Environmental Health coaching.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a broad technical background across a range of Environmental Health disciplines to support our Catering Brand, Radish. Key roles and responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact, in conjunction with HSEQ
  • Support the CaterSafe (FSMS) revisions and updates and training
  • Support and Coordinate the HACCP process including specialist high-risk menu items
  • Work with the Company Nutritionist and support Allergen safety
  • Support and advise the management team on the implementation of Group Safety Policy; review any new legislation
  • Assist Central HSEQ in accident investigations, Food incidents, Near Misses and RIDDOR reporting
  • Create monthly reports for senior management to include collation of statistics
  • Assist HSEQ with liaison with any HSE Inspectors/ EHO’s or other enforcement agencies
  • Engage and participate in the Primary Authority Agreement (PAP)
  • Deputise for the Head of HSEQ North, Midlands and Catering when required.


Person specification

  • Operational experience in Environmental Health, Health and Safety and food safety management and or any other public Health or Catering background
  • Food Safety Level 4 or equivalent is desirable
  • Ability to be flexible and work independently
  • Good time management skills and ability to prioritise competing for workloads/outputs.
  • Competent in use of Microsoft Packages
  • The role will require occasional nights away from home
  • Knowledge of government regulations (UK/EU).
  • Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in environmental health, food science, food technology, or another related scientific area of study OR EHORB.
