The Environmental Health Team is busy, multi-disciplinary team which covers traditional environmental health areas such as food safety, health and safety, environmental protection, and housing. The Councils licensing function is also included in the Teams remit.

Due to an internal service review a number of exciting opportunities have arisen within the Council’s Environmental Health Team.

Community and Business Liaison Assistant

Permanent - 37 hours per week

Grade D: (£19,446 - £21,693) per annum

Are you an enthusiastic and highly motivated person? Do you have excellent people skills and a desire to work in public service helping local communities and businesses? If so then the role of Community and Business Liaison Assistant may be just the job for you.

You will have a varied workload dealing with a range of service requests across all areas of environmental health. Your day to day duties will include sampling and assisting team members with day to day regulatory activities. 

You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as sound IT skills. Experience of IDOX uniform databases, and knowledge of council procedures and processes would be an advantage.

You will be an enthusiastic team player who is adaptable to changing circumstances and with a flexible approach to work. 

A detailed knowledge of environmental health and licensing matters is not essential as appropriate training will be provided.

This post will be based at the Public Services Centre in Tewkesbury where the Council works alongside the Police, Social Services and the Citizens Advice Bureau to deliver public services to the residents of Tewkesbury Borough.
