Reading Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Environmental Health Officers or Senior/Technical Officers to work in our Private Sector Housing Team to assist with the upcoming extension of Mandatory HMO Licensing Scheme.

As an urban area we are challenged with a large number of properties in the private rented sector in poor condition and a high proportion of licensable HMO properties which will increase significantly with the introduction of the extension of the HMO Licensing Scheme.  You will be processing HMO licence applications and carry out inspections both at new applications and renewal stage.

You must possess a degree/diploma from an Environmental Health course accredited by CIEH as well the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) Certificate. You must be HHSRS trained.
