EHO - Pollution
Our client, based in the North West, are looking for an officer to undertake a specific investigation into atmospheric pollution. The officer will need to undertake site visits, conduct extensive monitoring of a pollution source, interact with complainants and visit their homes to undertake assessments, use professional judgement to establish if statutory nuisance is being created, write a formal technical report of their findings and act as expert witness in any
subsequent enforcement action
Due to the specialist area, the Council requires a suitably qualified environmental health officer with extensive experience and expertise in atmospheric pollution; especially around coating processes and solvent management and statutory nuisance enforcement.
The contract will be for an initial 2 months however this maybe extended and any subsequent enforcement action may result in a formal appeal being lodged at the Magistrates and High Courts. The officer would be required to attend all court hearings as the Council's expert witness. The Council will pay for any subsequent expert witness work in addition to the original contract.
