EAST CAMBRIDGESHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL 

TECHNICAL OFFICER (DOMESTIC)  

£21,074 - £29,055 p.a.  plus benefits package 

This post will lead in carrying out Housing Inspections in the Private Rented Sector, including inspecting Houses in Multiple Occupation. Duties of the post holder will also include the investigation and resolution of complaints from the public relating to matters of public health, environmental crime and nuisance.  In addition you will assist in other, specific work programs undertaken by the team as a whole, such as private water supply sampling and mobile home site inspections. 

You will have experience in Housing and/or hold a relevant technical qualification in environmental health/housing/construction, ideally hold the HHSRS practitioners qualification and be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of public health and environmental legislation or housing inspections/enforcement. You will be an effective communicator, capable of acting on your own initiative, as well as working effectively within a team. Any offer of employment will be subject to the successful outcome of DBS (formerly known as CRB) check.
