Do you want to work in one of the most vibrant economies in the UK. With an ambitious growth programme, Huntingdonshire’s historic market towns are nestled between the internationally renowned innovation hub of Cambridge and the eco-cluster of Peterborough.

We are looking for high performing, enthusiastic and technically sound individuals with excellent customer service and communication skills.

 IF YOU...

  • Want a new and exciting challenge?
  • Enjoy working in a busy and forward-thinking environment?
  • Have a passion for people and customers?
  • Get out of bed each day motivated and determined to make a positive difference?
  • Want to contribute to service and corporate development projects?

Then this could be just what you are looking for…

A vacant has arisen in the team for an experienced Environmental Protection Officer, or Environmental Health Officer and the Council seeks applications against either of the job profiles. In taking on this exciting role you will part of a team working to deliver services in a truly transformational way to meet the challenges of the Council’s Corporate Plan, and making the District a safe place to work, live and visit.

As an experienced Environmental Protection Officer, or Environmental Health Officer you will be expected to demonstrate not only the core skills within Environmental Protection and Community Safety, but have a desire to challenge the way things are done, and be part of making the change.

The role is part of a team dealing with Housing, Statutory Nuisance, Environmental Permitting, Air Quality, Contaminated Land, Community Safety, Community Development, Environmental Enforcement, and the Council’s Pest Control Service. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to cross-service work and the wider corporate agenda.

In return, you can expect to work as part of a strong team, receive regular professional supervision and have access to quality training, developing your interests, expanding your knowledge and becoming an expert at what you do.  You will be supported by an outward looking leadership team who can, and do, draw on a wide range of professional and specialist support to ensure excellence across the service.
