In this wide ranging post, you will be responsible for the strategic management and delivery of a Regulatory Service on behalf of the council. You will develop and lead on the implementation of regulatory strategy, ensuring effective delivery of the business plans to meet performance targets, whilst maintaining responsibility for the management of all of the staff within the environment and regulatory section.

You will ensure that the Council’s statutory responsibilities for all environmental and regulatory activities and contract management functions, are discharged in accordance with our policies and best practice. As our expert on Environment and Regulatory Services matters, you will also provide high level professional advice to the leadership team as required.

You will be educated to degree or equivalent level in Environmental Health, and have a proven track record of effectively managing a multi-disciplinary team. You will also have demonstrable experience of high level decision making e.g. authorising prosecutions. The ability to compile and present reports at Committee and other meetings is essential for this post.
