Job description and person specification
We are looking to recruit an experienced Environmental Health Officer to cover maternity leave on a 12 month fixed term contract.
Applicants will require a recognised degree or diploma in Environmental Health and a Certificate of Registration from the Environmental Health Registration Board.
Work areas include Food Safety, Health and Safety, Infectious Disease Control and Public Health work, which involves attending community events.
We are a small team of five and take pride in the work we deliver; the successful candidate will be qualified within environmental health and be driven to assist the team in delivering an excellent service within our communities.
You should possess excellent communication skills and have experience in managing a busy caseload with a strong track record of performance. The ability to offer accurate, concise technical advice is essential.
The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and have excellent organisational skills.
Our officers have a passion to make a big difference to public health and business/consumer confidence in the Chesterfield borough.
You should be Food Safety Competent and able to meet the requirements listed in Section 4 of the Food Law Code of Practice (England) April 2018 for an ‘Authorised Officer’.
Although the post is advertised as a full time role we would consider applications from candidates that may wish to work on a part time or job share basis.
