The role
Oxford City Council has a national reputation for intervening and improving the private rented sector. We are one of only six councils who have been awarded funding by the Business Enterprise, Industry and Skills Department for an enforcement pilot to develop best practice for local authorities to enforce the new Minimum Energy Efficiency Regulations. It is anticipated that the pilot will run for a period of 10 months.
We are looking for an experienced Environmental Health Officer who is self-motivated, innovative, adaptable and flexible in their approach and are keen to develop their skillsets. The role will focus on the enforcement work required to enforce the Minimum Energy Efficiency Regulations and other relevant legislation in both domestic and non-domestic properties. Working closely with other services within the Council and external partners you will help deliver an effective joined up Regulatory service by dealing with private rented sector enforcement issues and carrying out investigations.
