Buckingham Futures have an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Planning Officer in North London to assist in the planning, preparation, development, maintenance and validation of the Council’s emergency arrangements.
Duties
- To take a proactive role in supporting the Council corporate of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and its associated guidance related to resilience services To deliver specific resilience plans or elements of them which are relevant to the Borough Resilience Forum To develop and prepare consultative and information reports to effect necessary change resulting from internal and external influences relating to preparedness planning and resilience and the Councils ability to respond to and recover from emergency incidents To liaise with all Council services, partners and stakeholders to align the category 1 statutory duties and required best practice for assurance to the corporate emergency preparedness and resilience. To prepare and maintain corporate emergency planning arrangements to comply with central contingency planning policy as directed by the London Resilience Team To support the development, review and implementation of protocols and procedures to ensure the operational preparedness to local emergency incidents To support the development of the boroughs plans and capabilities in place to deliver an effective response to threats and hazards identified by the Borough To take part in effective inter-agency collaboration with Category 1 and 2 responders and other resilience partners in relation to multi-agency planning, assessment of risk and training·
Knowledge and Experience
- Expert knowledge and substantial practical experience of emergency planning, response and Recovery. Expert knowledge of pan London Local Authority Gold arrangements and pan-London emergency plans and procedures MSc, PGCert or PGDip in Emergency Planning, Resilience and Response or similar Experience of working in the contingency/integrated emergency planning fields in a multidisciplined organisation including developing, monitoring, reviewing and revising systems to apply the function of contingency planning and business continuity. Proven ability to manage and direct required work with a cross-section of Category 1 and 2 responders under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
