South West Surrey
Two year contract

We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic professional to join our Private Sector Housing Team. Your primary function will be to investigate complaints and enquiries about housing conditions, carry out inspections of properties in accordance with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and take appropriate enforcement action. You will also deal with a range of other issues including grant enquiries, licensing of HMOs and caravan sites, complaints of harassment and illegal eviction, public health funerals and immigration inspections.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of housing legislation, be competent in HHSRS inspections and assessments and have practical problem solving and analytical skills.
You will also need to have excellent customer care skills, an adaptable approach and the ability to communicate well with members of the public and other contacts.
This is the perfect opportunity to come and develop skills in those areas where you have not yet had direct experience and further develop your career.
Starting salary, £32,588 per annum.
This post is a full time role working 37 hours per week. The initial contract is for two years with the possibility of extension.
