As part of the Public Protection service area, you will provide a range of regulatory and enabling functions that affect the daily lives of people living, working and relaxing in Ipswich. The service is aimed at protecting and improving public health, the local environment and quality of life. The service brings together teams who play a highly visible role across the council.

We are currently seeking an Environmental Health Officer for the Food Safety Team.

We are looking for an officer who is committed to delivering the council's aim of ensuring all food businesses in the Borough are of a minimum 4 food hygiene rating. Officers are also involved in investigating food complaints, food sampling and undertaking infectious disease investigations.

Applications are invited from experienced or newly qualified Environmental Health Officers. You will have a degree or diploma in Environmental Health, be registered with the EHRB and be a member of CIEH. You will also need to demonstrate that you meet the relevant competencies and CPD requirements laid out in Chapter 4 of the Food Law Code of Practice.
