About Us:

Lead the way in tackling rogue landlords /supporting vulnerable tenants. It’s time to be bold. Time to crack down on landlords who don’t follow the rules. Time to stand up for tenants’ wellbeing. We at Westminster City Council want to take the lead. Because our borough is home to the biggest private rental sector in England.

The Role:

As an EHO, you will work in delivering services to ensure residential accommodation within Westminster is safe and healthy to live in, free of housing hazards. In addition, you will ensure that houses in multiple occupation are appropriately managed, and licensed where appropriate. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, assisting and supporting officers from other disciplines to ensure neighbourhoods within the borough meet residents and visitor needs.

About You:

Roles in our collaborative team will be challenging. But the rewards are unique. This role offers the opportunity to make an impact on a high-profile issue that really matters. It’s not just your practical experience of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) that equips you to be a Residential Environmental Health Officer in our team. It’s also your passion and enthusiasm for the difference you can make. Your responsibilities will be varied and interesting. Conducting surveys and inspecting properties to ensure compliance, you’ll gather evidence and take enforcement action wherever necessary. In everything you do, your proactive approach, drive and flair for teamwork will shine through.

What We Offer:

If you’re as productive as you are ambitious and collaborative as you are enterprising, this is your chance to take real ownership of your work, right in the heart of iconic Westminster, a true ‘City for All’. This is a unique place where it all happens. And where it could all happen for you. As a progressive and innovative organisation, we welcome applications from candidates keen to work in an agile environment with flexible conditions.
