Job Details

As a Health and Safety Advisor you will undertake formal investigations for major accidents and incidents and undertake and support projects for those that are complex and contentious to identify health and safety failures and make recommendations for improvement. Where problems are identified you will be expected to advise on appropriate options for effective corrective action, giving practical support on compliance where possible.

Working for our local authority client you will cover a range of property across the district and will be tasked with developing appropriate policies and procedures to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of employees, contractors and general public. As and when required you will consult and negotiate on health and safety issues with trade union health and safety representatives and other stakeholders to meet legal requirements and support partnership working.

To carry out this role you will need a high level of H&S competency and experience managing your own work schedule as the role will be fairly autonomous. Specifically you will need experience of developing H&S policy in schools. It is expected that you will hold appropriate qualifications such as a NEBOSH diploma.

The role is based in the East Midlands and will pay £28-£35/hr (umbrella).
