Our client in South London is seeking 3 Fire Risk Assessment Co-ordinators to join its health and safety team.

Purpose of role:

  • To act as the responsible person for the Health and Safety and Fire Safety relating to  Buildings in the borough,
  • Supporting the Performance team in managing FRA, Asbestos, Legionella, Gas safety recording and reporting
  • Provide a professional advisory service, embracing all areas of Health and Safety / fire safety management.
  • Managing Health and Safety risk generally with a specific focus relating to Fire Safety , ensuring that the Council meets both statutory and non-statutory fire safety responsibilities in relation to legislation, associated building and Fire regulations and Government Guidance.
  • In conjunction with the Housing performance team, ensure that FRA  ,Asbestos, Legionella , Gas safety  and actions arising are properly and monitored
  • Provide expert technical knowledge to enable compliance of all aspects of Health And Safety ,fire safety across all assets, ensuring that the services are maintained and improved to meet Fire , Building and CDM regulations across all works to the council’s Housing stock
  • As agreed with the AD Housing Capital and Asset Management , develop and establish working relationships with the London Fire Brigade (LFB) both London and Borough wide. Design in collaboration with the LFB customer interaction and fire safety awareness programmes.

 

Knowledge/experience

  • Thorough understanding of Fire Safety Regulatory Reform Order 2005
  • Thorough understanding of Fire Safety Regulatory Reform Order 2005
  • Degree-level qualification in building surveying or other construction discipline and demonstrable relevant experience.
  • Health and Safety/Fire Safety compliance procedures and services
  • Approved Professional Qualification in Health and Safety/Fire Safety,
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and regulation for managing fire safety
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the building construction and maintenance industries including the design process, contractual matters and legislation.
