Environmental Health Practitioner (Pollution Control)

2 Year Fixed-Term Contract

Grade 7 - £29,055 to £32,233 per year

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to work in our Environment Section. The post is for a fixed-term period of 2 years to provide cover for maternity leave and general support within the team.

You will be responsible for investigating and resolving complaints of pollution, statutory nuisance and drainage from domestic and commercial premises, and general enforcement work within the role of the section.

You will be educated to degree level in Environmental Health or a related discipline.  A Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control would be advantageous.  You will need an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of statutory nuisance and drainage work, along with a working knowledge of the planning and licensing regimes and must be confident in dealing with customers at all levels.  A full driving licence and use of a vehicle will also be essential.

Starting salary will be dependent on experience and competencies.
