Private Sector Housing Officer/Environmental Health Officer
Buckingham Futures have an exciting upcoming project for a Private Sector Housing Officer/Environmental Health Officer to help assist and implement the additional licensing scheme for properties in multiple occupancy on behalf of our local authority client in East London.
This scheme will be an extension of the selective licensing scheme currently in operation, the estimated figure is 9,000 properties to be licensed.
The ideal candidate will have equivalent local authority experience in all aspects of the work including liaising with our clients, arranging initial inspections, undertaking risk assessments under HHSRS and then taking the appropriate action and keeping accurate records.
- Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS qualification) Requirements of the 2004 Housing Act & how they affect Houses of Multiple Occupation. Good knowledge of building construction and maintenance. Working knowledge of landlord/tenant issues and general housing legislation Relevant Degree, Member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, RICS or CIOH. Experience of inspection of residential properties, including multi-occupied for disrepair and fire precaution issues. Assessments of housing conditions using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System & associated guidance including LACORS Experience of working in a private sector housing enforcement Our client is ideally looking for someone to work full time, but will consider part time and / or condensed hours. There is also an option for some of the work the be carried out remotely.
Rate competitive depending on level and experience.
