SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER

HOUSING & POLLUTION

FULL TIME, 37 HOURS PER WEEK

Grade 5, £31,719 to £36,519 per annum

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Environmental Health Officer in our Housing & Pollution team.

As a Housing & Pollution specialist, you will undertake our HMO licensing, inspect properties for HHSRS compliance and carry out appropriate enforcement. You will also respond to complaints of nuisance, filthy and verminous premises, permitted processes and contaminated land, plus serving notices as necessary.

You will respond to planning and licensing consultations and play an active role in delivering any public health initiatives that we are involved in. This includes providing free advice and guidance to local businesses when they request it, as an integral part of your workload.

The successful candidate must hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Health and be EHORB registered, along with detailed knowledge of the regulatory requirements specific to this area of work.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player to undertake the full range of duties, working in a geographical area of the District. The workload will be varied and rewarding.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and time management skills, be organised and flexible and confident in making decisions. You will need to be a team player but also capable of working on your own initiative.

If you hold the relevant qualification and have the skills needed to be successful in this role, then we would like to hear from you.
