Health and Safety / Licensing Officer
Buckingham Futures have an exciting opportunity in South Wales for a Health and Safety / Licensing Officer initially for 3 months to start immediately.
You will be tasked with carrying out investigations primarily on commercial premises including special treatment facilities such as tattoo parlours.
- Undertake proactive and reactive interventions and investigations for health safety activities To respond and take appropriate enforcement action where necessary to protect and improve public health. To assist as directed by Management in the investigation of reports of communicable or notifiable diseases received by the team and provide an appropriate response to minimise the spread of infection within the community and prevent its re occurrence. To prepare evidence for legal proceedings for non-compliance with relevant legislation, to instigate legal proceedings where appropriate and present that evidence in court.
- NVQ Level 4 Occupational Health and Safety Regulation or equivalent qualification. Proven experience of undertaking Health and Safety related work in an enforcement or similar role. A sound knowledge of environmental health related legislation relevant to the area of work of the role and an understanding of legal processes associated with enforcement functions and service of statutory notices. Experience of undertaking Petroleum Certification (or the former Licensing regime) related inspections and experience of investigating communicable diseases would beneficial.
