Buckingham Futures have an exciting opportunities in the North West for Environmental Health Officers / Higher Certificate Technical Officers to undertake 700 Category C & D Food inspections over a 9 month - 12 month period.

 

Job Purpose:

 

To audit, instigate and enforce where nescessary, according to Codes of Practice and Enforcement Policies, including preparing, serving, and enforcing legal notices, cautions and prosecutions relating to Food and Health & Safety.

 

Role Specific Accountabilities

 

To hold specialist knowledge of all relevant legislation including Food Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Infectious Disease Control any other Environmental Health legislation and apply the principles of the enforcement concordat, Codes of Practice and enforcement policies to all relevant duties.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Minimum BSc or MSc Degree EHORB registration Thorough knowledge of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act, Key Environmental Enforcement legislation, the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 and Criminal investigation and court procedures. Thorough knowledge of Infectious Disease Previous experience of working within an enforcement role or similar environment dealing with confrontational and sensitive situations. Ability to communicate with a range of partners objectively and persuasively where necessary. Ability to write clear and concise letters, statements and reports, the content of which may be complex and very often of a sensitive nature. Ability to prioritise a busy caseload. Ability to interpret and communicate effectively legal requirements. Full Drivers License, business insurance, and roadworthy vehicle. Good Conflict Management and Interpersonal Skills. Good level of inter-personal and customer care skills. Honesty, integrity and trustworthiness. Willingness to carryout investigations and inspections outside normal office hours.
