These are challenging times, calling for leaders who can embrace change, provide clear direction and deliver results. Bromley Council is delivering a commissioning programme that challenges the way we do things.
Delivering excellent services in times of reduced resources is never easy but we believe there are innovative and collaborative solutions still to be found.

As Head of Food, Safety, Licensing & Emergency Planning, you will be responsible for the operational provision, delivery and development of these services. Working to support the Assistant Director of Public Protection, you will provide clear direction, leadership and support to staff; ensuring we operate within a culture that encourages innovation, manages performance and delivers excellent services.

You will have a thorough understanding of the issues facing the services under your responsibility and have the credibility and gravitas to lead the teams within your remit to deliver excellent services, whilst challenging the status quo and developing alternative delivery models.

You will have excellent leadership and management qualities, including experience of managing change, people and budgets.  This will come with the ability to take people with you and a commitment to working collaboratively with other stakeholders and colleagues across the organisation.

A degree and/or relevant professional accreditation, preferably in the file of Environmental Health, Licensing, Trading Standards or Housing will be advantageous.

Are you up for the challenge?

If you would like an informal discussion regarding this opportunity, please contact Joanne Stowell on 020 8313 4332 or by email – joanne.stowell@bromley.gov.uk
