Environmental Health Officer (Environmental Protection) - Post ES009
Scale 7 - Salary: £27,358.00 - £30,756.00 per annum
Purbeck District Council has an opportunity for an Environmental Health Officer with experience of dealing with Environmental Protection regulation to join our multi-disciplined team. The role covers the investigation of nuisance complaints and application of the IPPC regime. You will also to provide technical advice to the planning department as required taking account of relevant guidance and represent at committees if required. You will work closely with the licensing officer managing the noise impact of a number of large music events which take place each year, including attending Safety Advisory Group meetings and carrying out proactive and reactive event monitoring.
Suitable candidates will have a degree or diploma in Environmental Health and either have or be working towards their EHORB registration. You will have the ability to manage a diverse workload and be able to prioritise work. You will be confident in dealing with the public whilst carrying out a regulatory role and make enforcement decisions in line with the council’s enforcement policy and undertake PACE interviews and put together prosecution case reports as required.
