Environmental Health Practitioner / Assistant Environmental Health Practitioner

Private Sector Housing

Up to £31,341 (dependant on qualifications and subject to grading review)

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our busy Private Sector Housing Team.

We are looking to recruit a fully qualified EHP or an Assistant EHP working towards becoming fully qualified.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a wide range of environmental health work across the whole discipline, although will be primarily based in the Private Sector Housing Team.  Your regular tasks will include responding to housing standards complaints, working with tenants and landlords, inspecting Houses in Multiple Occupation, empty properties and caravan parks and supporting our delivery of grants and loans.

Whether fully qualified or starting out on your career as an EHP, we are seeking an outstanding candidate, with excellent interpersonal skills who will embrace a culture of excellent customer service. You will be a strong communicator, highly motivated and with a track record of being able to learn quickly.

This will be a busy, high pressure role requiring excellent organisational qualities and an ability to ‘think on your feet’ and manage your priorities.

The Assistant EHP is a new development role for a candidate holding a degree in Environmental Health and training to become fully qualified.  You will be supported to achieve professional status and can look forward to progressing to the EHP grade once fully qualified and able to demonstrate competence.

We offer a package of benefits including vocational training opportunities, free parking, flexi time and Local Government pension.
