Operational Health & Safety Officer
Our client, based in the south west of England requires an experienced Health & Safety Officer. Based within their Corporate Safety team working throughout the district, in this role you will carry out Audits, inspections and staff training sessions. You will also co-ordinate their employee health surveillance activity in relation to HAV, audio and night work screening. With authority to either take direct action or escalate non-compliance to reduce risks as appropriate.
In order to be considered you will already hold a recognised qualification such as a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent together with detailed professional knowledge of health and safety legislation, codes of practice and guidance specifically related to frontline services in a local authority or similar. You must have Up to date, detailed professional knowledge of health and safety legislation, codes of practice and guidance specifically related to relevant frontline services including the Health & Safety at Work Act, PUWER, Chapter 8 and WISH forum guidance etc.
Our client requires someone to start ASAP and the contract will run for an initial 3 months. The rate is negotiable and will be based on your experience. If you are interested please let me know what you would require as an hourly or day rate.
