Working on behalf of a Local Authority in South London, Buckingham Futures have an excellent opportunity for a Housing Disrepair Officer.

As the Housing Disrepair Officer, you will be responsible for delivering strategic client side activity for the asset management service, including, quality inspections and performance monitoring, investigating and resolving complex customer complaints, tackling statutory disrepair cases and responding to Ombudsman enquiries relating to the repairs service.

Duties

To provide a comprehensive specialised technical service to ensure that potential disrepairs, statutory nuisance, structural repairs and insurance claims against the borough are dealt with professionally in accordance with procedures.

To manage and monitor works in relation to structural, insurance schemes and disrepair procedures.

Work with ordering and delivery managers to achieve a level of quality and consistency within the repairs service, agreeing action to improve service delivery.

 

 

Requirements

You will need to demonstrate recent experience of housing inspection, enforcement and experience dealing with properties in disrepair.

In particular, you must demonstrate that you can inspect residential property to assess and report on its condition, that you can identify and assess hazards using HHSRS and recommend appropriate remedial action and that you are familiar with relevant legislation.

You must be a good communicator and committed to improving housing conditions as key member of a busy team.
