Commercial and Licensing x2

We have two opportunities for Environmental Health Officers / Senior Technical Officers to undertake a range of duties from basic investigations / inspections to the most complex cases in relation to the assigned work within the Commercial and Licensing team.

This will include processing of applications, undertaking inspection of commercial premises for food hygiene, health and safety and licensing, investigation of complaints and compliance with licensing conditions, food and health and safety complaints infectious diseases, accidents and sampling. Dealing with statutory nuisance from commercial premises will also form a key part of the role.

You will hold a Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health and Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Registration Board or the Higher Certificate in Food Control with the Food Inspection endorsement.

Environmental Quality and Growth (Fixed Term for 15 months)

We also have an opportunity for Environmental Health Officer / Senior Technical Officer to undertake a range of duties in relation to the assigned work within the Environmental Quality and Growth team. This will include dealing with planning consultations on air quality, noise, contaminated land and odour. It will also involve investigating statutory nuisance on active application sites and carrying out LAPPC inspections and investigations.

You will hold a Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health and Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Registration Board or other any relevant qualification in relation to this role.

For all of the roles available, you will join us with experience of working with the public, carrying out investigations and inspections and an in-depth and current knowledge of legislation in food health and safety law and licensing. You will have the ability to communicate well at all levels and will be able to present facts and negotiate in a balanced manner. For both roles, you must also be confident in the preparation and construction of reports, interpreting legislation and applying standards and legal requirements to support decisions.
