“It is refreshing to work within an authority with so many like minded, open and enthusiastic colleagues, who respond to the daily challenges with the confidence that they have the full support of those around them.”

Kettering Borough Council is leading the way when dealing with a multitude of environmental health and anti-social behaviour issues and is recognised within the region for having a proven track record of successes in many areas.

The Environmental Protection Team provides a range of services including air quality and contaminated land assessment, nuisance control, environmental permitting, liaison with the planning and licensing authorities as a consultee for applications and public health work.  We work closely with our Environmental Wardens Team to improve the quality of life in our borough and are embracing technology to support our work such as body worn video, Cirrus Trojan noise recording devices and the NoiseApp.

We are looking for someone with experience of working within Environmental Protection with an environmental health or relevant science degree. You do not need to be EHORB registered. We also need your technical knowledge in one or more of the areas the team covers which you will use to progress more complex investigations, and support the team as a technical advisor.

The post will also give you the opportunity to deputise for the team leader, support the team and lead on key projects.

You will be an enthusiastic professional who is open minded in finding the right solution. You will be able to demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills, and build effective working relationships to deliver improvements and services.

If you would like to discuss the post in more detail please contact Rachel Field, Team Leader Environmental Protection on (01536) 534366
