ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER (2 POSTS)
DD24 – 37 hours per week – Environmental Protection
DD23 – 22.2 hours per week – Food & Safety
Grade 9 £28,485 - £30,785
We are looking for two experienced Environmental Health Officers to join our Team; both are permanent positions with a full-time post within the environmental protection team and a part-time job share post within the food & safety team. You must be EHORB registered and ideally have experience in environmental health and a relevant post graduate qualification.
You will provide a front line customer focused response to a broad range of pollution control issues from domestic and commercial sources, including nuisances, smoke control, industrial process regulation and lead on Local Air Quality management. You will also be expected to provide an appropriate response to planning and licensing applications.
Food & Safety:
You will provide a front line customer focused response to a broad range of Food and Safety matters dealing with retail premises, covering business advice, food hygiene inspection, infectious disease control, investigation of food complaints and investigation of accidents and Health & Safety inspections. You will be Food Competent as defined by the FSA Code of Practice.
As members of a small, committed and hard-working team, you will be involved in both proactive and reactive work across many of the specialist disciplines that lie within the team’s remit.
You will be organised, diligent and flexible, with good communication skills and able to work on your own initiative. You will have an eye for detail and be comfortable working under pressure.
