Environmental Protection Officer

Located at Spalding (option to be based at Dereham, Norfolk, however travel to the South Holland area will be required) An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, forward thinking officer to join the Environmental Protection Team. The main role will be the day to day delivery of the contaminated land function, primarily through the planning process, however there will also be involvement in other environmental protection functions.
Ideally you will have recent experience of working in Environmental Health with a working knowledge of the contaminated land discipline. You will have an understanding of local government and the wider context of Environmental Health. You will have either have or working towards a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health and a Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or an equivalent relevant qualification.
You’ll need to be effective at handling customer enquiries and have good investigative, decision making and problem solving skills, as well as being able to manage your time effectively, work well as part of a team, communicate effectively and have good interpersonal skills. Experience of computerised records systems such as Civica APP & GIS systems and a capacity for innovation will be an advantage.
