Fixed Term Contracts for 12 months

The City of Wolverhampton Council is the current holder of the prestigious Municipal Journal Local Authority of the Year award and was described as an ‘outstanding example of modern local government’.

The Public Protection Service encompasses Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Licensing Compliance Officers who work together in multi disciplinary teams focused on improving environmental and commercial standards in the city.

We have a number of officers committed to long term projects and are therefore seeking 2 Senior Environmental Health Officers to undertake food hygiene and food standards inspections.

Applicants need to be fully qualified Environmental Health Officers who are EHORB registered and meet the authorised officer competency requirements set out in the food law code of practise to carry out food hygiene inspections across all categories (A to E).

You will have proven oral and written communication skills, be able to work on your own as well as being a team player and be capable of managing a heavy and varied workload. Due to the diverse nature of the roles, some working of unsociable hours may be required.
